This recipe is originally one from a selection of recipes that I developed for a school project (EPQ) I did back in 2020/2021, which was a recipe book dedicated to different biscuits/cookies from an array of different countries all over the world.
Pocky is a popular Japanese biscuit-stick snack available in a variety of different flavours. The biscuit is usually a light and crunchy savoury biscuit, and this recipe is just topped simply with milk chocolate, but there are many fun combinations that can be made with this simple treat.
Ingredients
- 150g Plain flour
- 1 tbsp Caster sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 50g Cubed butter
- 3 tbsp Milk
- 200g Milk chocolate
Directions
- Mix all of the dry ingredients together, and then add the cubed butter and combine until you have a breadcrumb consistency
- Add the milk and mix to form a smooth dough
- Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for at least half an hour
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan)
- Roll out the dough to around 5mm thick, then cut and roll into 4″-5″ sticks and place on a lined tray
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden
- Melt the chocolate and then dip the cooled sticks into the chocolate, coating about 3/4 of the length and leave to set
- Once set, store in an airtight container
